APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Application Requirements

Applicants for teaching positions must have at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a home-country teaching certificate and must be native speakers of the language they teach. 

 
Training in the IB Primary, Middle Years or Diploma Programme is preferred and knowledge of German is an advantage but not essential. 

2. Application Summary

Applicants need to fill in the Application Summary (pdf) and submit it by email to Jobs@hischool.de.  

 

If you wish to submit an application although there are no current vacancies advertised, please download and complete the Application Summary form and submit it together with a cover letter.

3. Compensation and Benefits

H.I.S. offers staff an attractive, comprehensive remuneration package. 
 
Faculty salaries are competitive within the range offered by similar international schools in Germany. The pay scale is reviewed annually and adjusted to reflect the current cost of living. 
 
Staff are exempt from paying tuition fees for their children enrolled at H.I.S. German laws require that tuition fees for staff children in Grades 1-12, are included as a taxable benefit on income statements. Professional development is offered and encouraged for all staff. 
 
Financial support
(a one-time payment) for relocation expenses is offered to teachers moving to the area, after accepting a teaching position at H.I.S. 
 
Social and health contributions are part of the salary.
